On the second day of Christmas Colour we reveal that grey is the new black at Murphy Gozzard (formerly Suki Hairdressing Paddington), where Brett created this gorgeous shimmering pearl effect for Penny, the face of the rebranded salon. Read here below to find out more.
Penny’s existing colour was very ‘salt and pepper’. With her textured haircut we wanted to create more depth at the roots, really clean out those ends and get a nice ash/pearly tone but still have a natural look and low maintenance. We applied L’Oréal Professional ‘Homme’ level 5 for five minutes to the root area. This colour is designed primarily for men’s grey hair coverage but we love it also on women as it gives a natural result and no regrowth. We then went through the whole head and sliced out pieces, making sure we picked out any dark ends, and lightened up to a clean blonde/white. Once the colour was rinsed we toned with an ash blonde.
